When should I RSVP by?

We want to get you on the list as soon as possible! If you still need more time to plan, please be sure to respond before August for our final headcount.

Are you registered?

We are not registered. We are asking many of you to come from faraway places - your presence to help us celebrate is more than enough of a gift for us. Consider purchasing local food and souvenirs to support our community instead.

Is there a dress code?

Wear whatever is comfortable! That said we reserve the right to judge you if you show up in tattered jeans and flip flops ☺ Refer to Details page for more attire info.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

There will be food options for the vegetarians and vegans among us. That said, for those with strong food allergies our vendor will not be able to guarantee there is no cross contamination. The full on-site kitchen can be utilized to prepare food by anyone with additional food concerns.

Is there parking at the venue?

The venue has a large paved parking lot, but suggest carpooling when possible. The road up the hill is narrow and winding - bar patrons should consider taking advantage of the shuttle that will be running between Hood River & Crag Rat Hut.

Is there transportation to and from the wedding?

We will have a shuttle from downtown Hood River to the venue, operating before & after festivities for everyone who registers. See Travel page for more details. Also note that Lyft & Uber do not operate in Hood River, but can arrange a taxi ride noted on Travel page.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

We want to spend as much time with everyone as possible! Let us know if you are traveling near Portland, you might be able to run into us in and around the city! And if you are in Hood River on Saturday the bride & groom would love to see you! Please join us for an evening gathering on the Ferment Brewing lawn between 6-9pm on Saturday night. Grab yourself some takeout food & drinks from many nearby restaraunts and come enjoy good company. Bring those lawn chairs and blankets if you got them!
For those looking to continue the party after wedding activities, check out some of Hood Rivers late night watering holes such as Whiskey Tango.

Can children attend?

A seat will be reserved for young children noted in your RSVP (children under 18 living at home, unless otherwise coordinated). While we admire children's youthful energy, we ask for a composed atmosphere particularly during the ceremony. We appreciate everyone helping facilitate this request. Additionally, Crag Rat Hut is an active search & rescue facility with many potential hazards on the site - young children should be supervised at all times to avoid personal injury or damage to the venue.

House rules?

We know all our furry friends are perfect angels, but unfortunately the venue has a strict no animal policy. There is no overnight parking, vehicles left past midnight are subject to towing. Please be aware it is also a non smoking facility.

Accommodation & travel tips?

We suggest staying in or around Hood River, Oregon. There are also many beautiful cities along both the Oregon & Washington sides of the Columbia River. The Hood River Bridge across the Columbia River into White Salmon, Washington is a fully electronic toll bridge. Discounts are available for pre-registering an account HERE.
The nearest major airport is Portland International Airport (PDX). A recent renovation has propelled this airport into the national spotlight for its unique construction & appearance, and an overall enjoyable spot while waiting for flights. Food & beverage pricing is heavily regulated, sip on $6 mimosa's as you take in the brand new terminal renovations. Security usually takes ~15 minutes. Due to ongoing construction, B & E gates have an exceptionally long walk.

How can I maximize my time in the Pacific Northwest?

It would certainly be worth your time to take a couple extra days to explore! Staying in Portland, Oregon provides a central location between the Pacific Ocean & Mt. Hood for outdoor activities, plus many fun events within the city. Visit the Activities page for some suggestions or send us a message for some personal feedback.

What wedding activities should I plan for?

There will be many optional indoor & outdoor activities. Bring some comfy dancing shoes & let your competitive side shine with some fun games. We also invite everyone to join us in a group Irish Ceili dance following the parents dance. A quick 'fairy reel' lesson will be provided during cocktail hour for those interested.

What do I need to know about Portland?

The city has much to offer and is exceptionally easy to navigate with its small quarter block grid & extensive public transit network. Ditch the car and walk or ride a bus, light rail, streetcar, tram, or even e-bikes & scooters, all for $5.60 a day. Uncomfortable public transit encounters can be avoided by deboarding at one of many frequent stops, typically only a few minutes apart. If a car is required consider utilizing a city owned "SmartPark" garage and download the "Parking Kitty" app to your phone for fast street parking payments. Daily parking rates average $14. Sticking to the main pedestrian areas and staying vigilant will provide a safe and enjoyable time in the city. Some rougher areas such as Burnside & Old Town are best experienced during the day. Feel free to reach out with any travel questions around the city.
